Welcome to a selection of my photos from the 1980s and 1990s.
Although I have been interested in railways since I was a toddler it was when BR repainted 2 Class 87s in experimental InterCity liveries in the early 80s that particularly got me interested in liveries. Since then I have tried to photograph as many different liveries and livery variations as possible.
My philosophy has always been to take a photo of something that interests me regardless of weather or small obstructions and get a better photo later if the opportunity arises. Obviously the opportunity does not always present itself so some of the photos aren't great, however if you have an interest in the liveries, e.g. photos of 08s in more than 3 dozen, the variery, and the workings of the period you should find something of interest. If you only like scenic shots under clear blue skies then you probably won't.
The majority are of BR locos but there are a few from early diesel galas on preserved lines.
